Crispell/Andersson/Østergaard-Nielsen Trio

Nasjonal jazzscene / Nasjonal jazzscene
Oslo

Open and sensitive from three fabulous musicians

Marilyn Crispell is a world-known piano player and composer in the field of jazz, improvisation and art-music. She’s been collaborating with musicians such as Anthony Braxton, Paul Motian and most recently Joe Lovano in “Trio Tapestry”. Marilyn Crispell has released several albums on ECM. “She is one of a very few pianists who rise to the challenge of free jazz” – The New York Times.

Thommy Andersson is a fabulous bass player and has during the last 20+ years collaborated with many different musicians from different cultures around the world on tours, projects and recordings. Besides that, he is also a composer, arranger and producer. “Thommy Andersson knows how to play the world s most grounded bass and at the same time facilitate exalted music” – Jazz Special.

Michala Østergaard-Nielsen is described as having an almost zen-like attitude towards drumming, improvisation and music. In 2018 she received the Swedish Jazz Award “Jazzkannan”: “This years “Jazzkanna” goes to a spirituel and sensitive composer and musician, who s univers is full of poetic vibrations that create instant love.“ She’s been collaborating with musicians such as Marc Ducret and Bob Moses.
